Featured Item: Slate Pendulum, Small

This slate colored pendulum is complete with rocker arm, ring, pendulum, glass "sand" beads.  Although the pendulum does require assembly, easy instructions are included.  "Within a few minutes you will see how the circles and curved lines begin to create perfect squares and rectangles in the sand, defying what you would expect the pendulum to do.  Try starting the pendulum from different directions and you can change the types of designs."

The history of the pendulum design can be attributed to Jean Bernard Leon Foucault.  In the mid 1800's, he used the pendulum to demonstrate that the earth revolves on an axis.
